Every dog is an individual so at The Pet People we make sure your dog is happy and confident in their group walk. Every new doggy enjoys their first walks with two team members, ensuring calm, well-managed introductions and a positive start. Group dog walks are a great way for your dog to benefit from socialisation with other dogs whilst getting the exercise they need.

The areas we cover for dog walking include Romsey, Ampfield and surrounding areas. ​​​We operate our dog walking services in safe open spaces away from busy roads and we vary the location of our walks to give your dog plenty of variety and stimulation. Walks are always local—Abbotswood Nature Reserve, Ampfield Wood, Tadburn Meadows, or Fishlake Meadows—minimising car time and maximising fresh air.

 

We provide a mixture of on and off lead dog walks so that your dog is able to get a good amount of exercise. We will put dogs on their lead if we feel their safety is compromised e.g. a horse is approaching.

On our dog walks we always carry poo bags and use treats to aid positive behaviour, such as recall. We collect and drop off your dog. All group dog walking services last for 50-60 minutes. We can tailor make any walk to suit your dog’s ability.

In hot weather, if temperatures soar to over 30 degrees we cannot walk as dogs can only be walked safely in the very early morning or evenings which is outside of our operating times. In very wet or snowy conditions we carry on - if we can drive, we can walk! We are however, mindful of these conditions and in heavy rain will always head to the woods for cover.

We take photos on every walk so you can see all the tail wags, happy faces, and adventures your pup is having!
